Mental Health is an individual's ability to think, feel, and act. It includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being as we navigate from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Our mental health can have an impact on how we live our lives on a daily basis. For some of us, that impact may be detrimental to our overall well-being.
About 33% of youth experience trauma in their childhood. Unfortunately that childhood trauma follows you through adulthood when left untreated. Leading to approximately 70% of adults with both new and old traumas. A traumatic experience can leave one feeling alone, anxious, depressed, and so many other feelings and emotions.
You are not alone! A little help can go a long way!
Often times we go through things in life that we may not be able to talk about, feel comfortable talking about, or you may not have anyone to talk to. Yet, we still go on with our lives as if nothing is wrong. Those are called silent battles, believe it or not we all go through them. It's nothing to be ashamed of but it also isn't something we should hold in. Holding on to hurt creates bigger problems within ourselves that we don't even realize. Going through these battles can cause you to shut down and close off the people that care about you most.
Talk to someone that you trust, get a journal or diary, talk to a therapist...
Whatever form of communication works best for you, DO IT
